  • This position provides the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays each week, with the requirement to report to the primary NOVA Chemicals work location on Tuesdays through Thursdays. Employees can opt out of the hybrid schedule and will be expected to work Monday-Friday from the primary work location.

As a Price Manager, you will play a highly visible and influential role, driving strategic decision-making through cutting-edge pricing analytics, market intelligence, and best-in-class pricing practices. You will be responsible for delivering data-driven, well-substantiated insights in group settings while effectively influencing cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between pricing strategies and business objectives. You Will Use Your Expertise To:

  • Make data-driven, analytically supported pricing decisions within your delegation of authority, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
  • Lead the development and implementation of advanced analytical tools and pricing systems, including an active pricing software initiative, to enhance decision-making efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Proactively identify and drive polyethylene profitability improvement opportunities by leveraging market insights, competitive intelligence, and financial analysis.
  • Coach and empower the polyethylene Sales and Marketing teams to make informed pricing decisions within their delegation of authority, fostering a data-driven pricing culture.
  • Provide strategic guidance to polyethylene account teams during contract negotiations and other commercial discussions to maximize long-term value.
  • Evaluate and approve commercial requests and pricing adjustments that impact contribution margin, ensuring alignment with profitability goals.
  • Develop and maintain polyethylene price forecasts, playing a key role in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to ensure market-responsive pricing strategies.
  • Continuously refine and enforce governance processes and controls for polyethylene pricing and commercial approvals to drive transparency and accountability.
  • Synthesize, interpret, and communicate polyethylene market intelligence across the organization to inform strategic decision-making and commercial execution.

 

Required/Minimum Qualifications::

  • Bachelor's Degree in Analytics, Commerce/Business, Sciences, Finance or related field
  • 10+ years’ experience in data analysis, sales, marketing, mathematics, business intelligence or other related field, and continued professional development (5 years market facing industry related experience preferred).
  • Proven ability to analyze and synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.

 

Additional or preferred qualifications: 

  • 7+ years of Polyethylene commercial experience in either Sales, Marketing, or a related commercial or technical field.
  • Master's/Advanced Degree in Business, Sciences, or related field

  • Comfortable navigating challenging conversations, addressing differing viewpoints, and articulating well-supported opinions in both small and large group settings.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, demonstrating the ability to make sound, data-driven decisions efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to influence and drive outcomes across functions and organizational levels.
  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage negotiations and drive successful outcomes in high-pressure situations.
  • Confidence to inspire alignment and rally teams around pricing strategies.
  • Expertise in pricing methodologies, including value-based pricing, segmentation, and scenario analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with pricing tools such as PriceFX, Vendavo, PROS, Zilliant
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights and communicate key takeaways effectively.
  • Results-oriented approach, with strong prioritization and process-driven execution skills.

  • Relocation will NOT be considered for this position
  • Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
  • The successful candidate is required to provide proof of a valid driver’s license and be eligible to travel easily between Canada and the U.S.
