- This position provides the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays each week, with the requirement to report to the primary NOVA Chemicals work location on Tuesdays through Thursdays. Employees can opt out of the hybrid schedule and will be expected to work Monday-Friday from the primary work location.

NOVA Chemicals, headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is wholly-owned by Mubadala Investment Company of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
We are seeking an Industry Affairs Manager to join our Government Relations and Industry Affairs team. In this role, you will provide insights into the U.S. political and industry landscape, advise on public policy and association engagement, and lead advocacy efforts to advance NOVA Chemicals’ interests.
You Will Use Your Expertise To:
- Serve as a strategic advisor and representative to U.S. industry associations, supporting the CEO and senior leaders.
- Lead NOVA Chemicals’ participation in federal, state, policy and public affairs association committees, shaping legislative and regulatory priorities.
- Prepare executives for key meetings, events, and votes within industry associations.
- Develop and execute advocacy strategies aligned with NOVA Chemicals’ business goals.
- Monitor policy developments and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Manage relationships with industry and select trade associations and ensure consistent internal alignment on advocacy positions.
- Provide direction and administration of NOVA Chemicals’ industry association budget and resource allocation for the U.S.
- Represent NOVA Chemicals’ views externally and support reputation management efforts.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align advocacy with customer and brand objectives.
- Support government relations at federal, state, and local levels (IA, PA, LA).
What We Are Looking For:
- University degree with 10+ years of relevant experience or 14+ years combined education and experience and continued professional development.
- 5+ years in market-facing industry related experience preferred
- Strong understanding of public policy, advocacy, and industry dynamics.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex policy issues.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Ability to distill complex issues and advise senior leaders.

Additional Information:
- Relocation will be considered for this position
- Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
- This role requires up to 25% travel and eligibility to travel easily between Canada and the U.S. is preferred
- The successful candidate is required to provide proof of a valid driver’s license
