We are seeking a talented Instrument Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. You will enjoy working in a collaborative, innovative environment. As an Instrument Maintenance Technician at our Geismar, Louisiana site you will be part of an expert team responsible for ensuring equipment availability through best-in-class repairs and supporting reliability improvements. You will also provide day-to-day equipment maintenance ensuring a safe and reliable operating plant while meeting our production commitment.
You Will Use Your Expertise To:
- Adhere to and maintain compliance with all Responsible Care® Standards
- Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on instrument equipment in a production environment
- Execute repairs to plant equipment in a timely manner
- Perform instrument installations in accordance with standard practices and engineering standards
- Maintain equipment records using computer maintenance management systems
- Coordinate and direct the activities of others during plant and unit shutdowns
- Establish new and continually improve existing preventative maintenance programs
- Work effectively in a multi-discipline team environment
What We Are Looking For:
- The successful candidate with have an Associates Degree or equivalent technical diploma/certificate with 3-7 years of related experience in a refining/petrochemical facility maintenance environment
- Strong commitment to Responsible Care® Principles through excellence in occupational safety, process safety, and environmental stewardship
- Proficient in handling a diverse range of level, pressure, and temperature instrumentation with extensive experience
- Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting and diagnosing control valves, particularly Fisher, ValTek, and other various types
- Well-versed in the operation and maintenance of fire and gas detection systems
- Proven hands-on experience with Bentley Nevada vibration systems
- Proficient in utilizing AMS and Valve diagnostic software
- Familiarity with Triconex, FSC, DCS, and PLC systems is highly advantageous
- Considerable experience with gas chromatograph and mass spectrometer analyzers is viewed as an asset
- Knowledge and experience working with low (600V) and medium (5000V) electrical systems will be considered an advantage
- Proficient in systematically troubleshooting problems, offering insightful recommendations, and implementing effective short- and long-term solutions
- Demonstrated capability to work autonomously with minimal supervision or collaboratively in a team setting
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplined Operations, Engineering, Trades, and Planning teams
- Advanced computer skills, including SAP and MS Office suite
- Familiarity with OSHA PSM Standards

Additional Information:
- Relocation will be considered for this position
- Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
- This position is scheduled as a four-day workweek with 10-hour shifts, Monday to Thursday
- Work will be conducted both indoors and outdoors in all seasons
- Duties will include standing, walking, bending, stooping and squatting for long periods of time as well as some lifting and some climbing of ladders within various levels of the units.
- Overtime and callouts are a requirement of the role due to the 24 hour per day plant operation
- In order to fulfil the duties of this role, the successful candidate will be required to wear respiratory protective equipment. Candidate must successfully pass a fit test and be physically able to wear a respirator
- The successful candidate is required to provide proof of a valid driver’s license
- The position will require a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC®) through the Transportation Security Administration.
