Expected Compensation Range: $87,370 - $115,700

Reporting to the Corunna Mechanical Supervisor, the Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting stationary mechanical equipment and industrial machinery, including but not limited to:

 

You Will Use Your Expertise To:

  • Execute maintenance job tasks in a safe, professional manner
  • Read diagrams and schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures
  • Operate rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts
  • Work alongside millwrights performing rotating equipment repairs
  • Perform maintenance work on heat exchangers, drums and other static equipment
  • Perform predictive and operational maintenance using procedures such as vibration analysis, and repair or replace defective parts when necessary
  • Service and repair hydraulic, pneumatic systems and controls
  • Update and maintain equipment history
  • Maintain inventory of replacement parts and critical spares
  • Employ troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques using appropriate operating and technical inputs
  • Network with support services
  • Rotate within work teams across Manufacturing East
  • Support the Routine Maintenance regional resource pool, supporting 24/7 work environment through after-hours call-out requests
  • Contribute to the Routine Maintenance team by supporting the established work systems

 

What We Are Looking For:

  • Millwright Mechanical Technician (MTIM) or equivalent college diploma AND/OR holder of a Red Seal Certification for Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A)
  • Co-op experience will be considered an asset
  • Recent, relevant experience in an industrial maintenance environment
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge gained through handson maintenance experience
  • Ability to comply with all Responsible Care® policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while contributing effectively as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility to support a 24/7 operating environment, including alternative work schedules
  • Willingness to participate in planned and unplanned shutdowns and turnaround activities
  • Ability to develop indepth knowledge of site equipment, processes, and maintenance systems
  • Commitment to continuous learning, including multiskilling development
  • Ability to develop a working knowledge of SAP notifications, work orders, and scheduling processes
  • Candidates will be expected to achieve a Certificate of Qualification; it is required upon completion of internal/external Apprenticeship program (NOVA TIPS program/ Government of Ontario C of Q).

Additional Information:

  • Relocation will NOT be considered for this position
  • Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
  • This role requires up to 10% travel
  • This position will work Monday - Friday eight (8) hours per day with a half-hour unpaid lunch break
  • Work will be conducted both indoors and outdoors in all seasons
  • Duties will include standing, walking, bending, stooping and squatting for long periods of time as well as some lifting and climbing of ladders within various levels of the units.
  • Overtime and callouts are a requirement of the role due to the 24 hour per day plant operation
  • In order to fulfil the duties of this role, the successful candidate will be required to wear respiratory protective equipment. Candidate must successfully pass a fit test and be physically able to wear a respirator
  • The successful candidate is required to provide proof of a valid driver’s license
