Expected Compensation Range: $102,994 - $132,709
Other Compensation: This position may be eligible for discretionary variable compensation.

NOVA Chemicals, headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is wholly-owned by Mubadala Investment Company of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
As part of the Manufacturing East (ME) Inspection Team within the ME Maintenance, Construction, and Turnarounds organization, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of process/mechanical equipment in the assigned unit through adherence to the NOVA Chemicals’ inspection programs.
You Will Use Your Expertise To:
- Manage unit inspection compliance.
- Manage inspection records within the corporate database.
- Complete regular inspections in the field on pressure vessels, piping, and related components.
- Report inspection findings and coordinate with technical staff to develop repair plans and recommendations.
- Issue or approve repair scopes and inspection test plans (ITP) for vessel and piping repair work.
- Steward the Manufacturing East Owner-User program.
- Coordinate inspection lifecycle activities such as inspection scoping and risk-based inspections (RBI) with cross-functional teams.
- Participate as a member of the Inspection Team during Turnarounds.
- Coordinate the work of Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) service providers.
What We Are Looking For:
2 year technical school diploma with 8+ years of related experience in a petrochemical/refinery plant OR 10+ years combination of post-secondary technical education and related experience in a petrochemical/refinery plant.
- Certification in API 510, 570 or 653 is an asset.
- Prior inspection experience in a petrochemical/refinery setting is a requirement.
- Applied knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations from organizations such as CSA, ASME, API, and TSSA.
- Knowledge and understanding of NDE techniques: Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle and Ultrasonic Thickness Testing.
- Knowledge and experience in welding inspection. Certification (CWB or equivalent) is an asset.
- Familiar with petrochemical/refinery equipment & piping systems, fabrication drawings, PID’s, and isometric diagrams.
- Excellent interpersonal, planning & organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills both written & verbal.
- Knowledge and experience with computer applications: Microsoft Office, SAP, Visions Enterprise.

Additional Information:
- Relocation will be considered for this position
- Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
- This role requires up to 10% travel
- Work will be conducted both indoors and outdoors in all seasons
- Positions will include some lifting and climbing of ladders within various levels of the units
- Overtime and callouts are a requirement of the role due to the 24 hour per day plant operation
- In order to fulfil the duties of this role, the successful candidate will be required to wear respiratory protective equipment. Candidate must successfully pass a fit test and be physically able to wear a respirator
- The successful candidate is required to provide proof of a valid driver’s license
