We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our Human Resources Business Consulting Team.  Reporting to the Human Resources Business Consulting Leader, the primary purpose of this position is to focus on strategic business challenges and to provide Human Resources (HR) support to business leaders and teams across our Manufacturing East region located near Sarnia, Ontario.


As a strategic HRBP, you will deliver meaningful insights to business leaders as well as advocate and champion the organizational values, culture and HR service delivery model within the business. You will also play a significant coaching role with business leaders to enable leadership capability and capacity within their function.


You Will Use Your Expertise To:

  • Participate at the leadership table by providing insight on business issues and advocating for people and organizational priorities
  • Provide education, advice, coaching and consulting to business leaders
  • Translate business demands and needs into HR people strategy and ensure consistency with organization standards
  • Support the business on key HR activities such as Workforce Planning, Succession Planning, Organizational Design and Change Leadership
  • Influence the design of HR programs and the roll out of programs designed in partnership with HR Centers of Expertise (CoEs)
  • Provide feedback on HR services to HR Operations and CoEs
  • Play a key role in intelligence gathering – delivering business outcomes and informing program and service delivery priorities
  • Provide change leadership subject matter expertise to a client’s change projects through the disciplined use of the NOVA Chemicals Change Leadership Framework
  • Provide direction and targeted coaching on the use of the NOVA Chemicals Change Leadership Framework
  • Work with leaders to identify and act on specific opportunities to enhance team and organizational effectiveness
  • Provide a reliable and predictable client experience across the organization through consistent application and alignment of HR policies, programs and practices
  • Assist leaders in the design and delivery of appropriate and pro-active interventions to enhance employee engagement


What We Are Looking For:

  • A university degree (preferably in Commerce or Human Resource Management) with 10+ years of related HR experience and continued professional development
  • Ideally, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in a HRBP role
  • Superior communication and facilitation skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues across the organization
  • Strong coaching skills, ability to influence, organizational awareness and managerial courage
  • Change Leadership experience
  • Ability to earn support from key stakeholders through their ability to influence change
  • Apply judgment to data to support business decision making
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels within the organization
  • Results orientation with ability to proactively anticipate issues/business needs and take initiative to recommend solutions
  • Ability to develop, evaluate and recommend solutions to problems
  • Possess agility to effectively manage multiple priorities and adjust heavy workload and changing priorities
  • High degree of initiative, innovation and ability to take on projects with minimal direction

Additional Information:

  • Relocation will be considered for this position
  • Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
  • This role requires up to 10% travel
  • The successful candidate is required to provide proof of a valid driver’s license
