- This position provides the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays each week, with the requirement to report to the primary NOVA Chemicals work location on Tuesdays through Thursdays. Employees can opt out of the hybrid schedule and will be expected to work Monday-Friday from the primary work location.

We are seeking a passionate and professional person to join the Manufacturing Excellence Asset Information Management team as an Asset Master Data Specialist. The successful candidate will be part of a team working with key stakeholders across all manufacturing plants to manage and continuously improve NOVA’s asset information in our computerized maintenance management system, SAP.
Asset master data is a foundational requirement of any Operational Reliability Maintenance System. High quality asset data supports plant reliability in failure eradication, maintenance and turnaround work processes, captures failure and cost data and is critical in supporting our maintenance strategies as well as external assurance audits.
You Will Use Your Expertise To:
- Provide asset data knowledge and skill development through coaching, assurance and oversight for asset master data and its areas of integration within and externally to SAP as a subject matter expert
- Across the Manufacturing business processes - Maintenance Work Management, Asset Performance Management including asset strategy & PMs, and Operations
- Across other business areas including Engineering, Procurement and Finance
- In corporate initiatives such as new digital solutions and upgrades
- Manage and ensure accurate asset master data in the SAP Plant Maintenance module, including functional locations, equipment, bills of material and related documentation, in alignment with asset registry standards and business rules

Collaborate with corporate growth teams on acquisitions, capital projects and facility changes to ensure accurate identification, updating and structuring of asset master data in SAP

Serve as the data steward for SAP plant maintenance data in the Operational Data Platform, ensuring correct data ingestion and resolution of data quality issues

Work with cross-functional teams, including site experts and IT, to resolve SAP Plant Maintenance technical and process issues

Support company audits - coaching stakeholders with asset master data information as required (i.e., Solomon, Phillip Townsend)

Audit and assure asset data compliance with company standards, identify gaps and develop plans to address non-conformance

Monitor and action master data quality KPI’s on a monthly, quarterly and yearly frequency

Utilize standard tools and systems for data extraction, transformation and loading to support asset data improvement, conversions and large projects

Contribute to the development and implementation of standards governance, process, business rules, roles and responsibilities related to asset master data
What We Are Looking For:

2-year technical school diploma with 8+ years of related experience OR 10+ years combination of post-secondary technical education and related experience OR 10+ years of progressive experience in a manufacturing discipline or equivalent technology environment
- Continuing education certifications, such as from the Institute of Asset Management, PEMAC, SMRP, or similar, are considered an asset

Knowledge of plant/facility and equipment, both process and non-process or related manufacturing experience
- Engineering data knowledge - understanding of P&IDs, technical drawings and specification data sheet information

Strong understanding of Operations, Maintenance and Reliability industry processes and asset functions in SAP, including their support through master data

In-depth knowledge of the SAP Plant Maintenance module and its integration with SAP Materials Management, Finance, Controlling, Project Systems and HR modules as well as other software solutions utilizing asset information

Proficient in governance and integration tools for master data (e.g., LSMW, Prospecta, SimpleMDG, or similar) for data creation, loading and maintenance

An understanding of database relationships in SAP, or equivalent data management/conversion experience with other ERP systems

A positive, collaborative individual with strong interpersonal skills and a stakeholder mindset

Ability to build and maintain strong networks and relationships with key stakeholders across all manufacturing plants, ensuring effective collaboration and communication to support asset master data initiatives
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Microsoft Access would be considered an asset
- Effective problem solving and analytical skills
- Proven ability to coach and influence cross-functional teams; strong communication, presentation and change management skills

Additional Information:
- Relocation will be considered to the nearest geographical NOVA Chemicals' location for this position
- Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
- This role requires up to 10% travel
- The successful candidate is required to provide proof of a valid driver’s license
