We are currently seeking a Manager, Corporate Strategy, reporting to the Director, Corporate Strategy. Our team works to advise and support the Executive Committee (ExCo) on many of their most challenging questions. We work to develop enterprise-wide corporate strategy and functional strategy engagements on important topics such as in sustainability, future growth, and long-term asset planning. Our team is a nimble group of 3, which means you will get the opportunity to work on a wide variety of strategic opportunities and challenges, and work collaboratively with subject matter experts from across NOVA.  


As part of our team, you will:

  • Contribute to and provide leadership in developing NOVA’s corporate strategy and other functional strategy initiatives that are priorities for the ExCo, leadership, and/or Board of Directors
    • Includes in sustainability, as we work towards becoming a leader in sustainable and responsible plastics, and decarbonizing our operations, in pursuit of our commitment to shape a better world
    • Contribute to/support long-term asset planning, in partnership with business units, asset managers and Finance, for a strategic overlay to our long-term asset and capital planning
  • Bring conceptual clarity to ambiguity, through structured problem solving, and applying and creating frameworks for analyzing strategic opportunities and challenges that exist for NOVA
  • Lead the development of strategic narratives at the highest levels, conveying complex and ambiguous opportunities/challenges into key conclusions and recommendations, through:
    • Analyzing and synthesizing quantitative and qualitative data and information from a variety of sources
    • Creatively conveying insights through data and analysis (charts, tables, other visuals)
    • Articulating the narrative and key tradeoffs/decision points through impactful presentations
  • Facilitate workshops, and analyze/summarize input from leaders across the organization
  • Provide strategy function thought leadership and coaching for others across NOVA
  • Develop and maintain a personal network with leaders and subject matter experts across NOVA


What We Are Looking For:   

  • 10+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking or other strategic role
  • Completion of an MBA or CFA designation is preferred
  • Experience working with and presenting at a senior leadership level, and creating Board-level materials
  • Experience with conducting structured qualitative analysis and solving ambiguous problems
  • Exceptional analytic and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively (verbally, visually and in writing)
  • Motivated and ambitious, eager to learn, and thrives in ambiguity
  • Demonstrated ability to role model independent thinking and innovative ideas
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Entrepreneurial / ability to work independently as well as to perform effectively in a team-oriented environment

Additional Information:
