- This position provides the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays each week, with the requirement to report to the primary NOVA Chemicals work location on Tuesdays through Thursdays. Employees can opt out of the hybrid schedule and will be expected to work Monday-Friday from the primary work location.

The Sales Planning group focuses on maximizing sales productivity and efficiency, supporting volume growth in target accounts, and enabling strategic insights for Sales leadership. The Commercial Planning Analyst will report to the Indirect and Planning Sales Leader. To help the Sales Planning group achieve success, this role will oversee the sales planning and reporting processes (including but not limited to; S&OP, ABP, PTAI, Sales & Marketing reports and dashboards, special projects), and operationalize key sales strategic initiatives.
To support the sales planning and reporting process, the role will work closely with the Commercial Planning Advisor in managing the sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting process for the Sales Planning and Operations group. To run these processes, the Commercial Planning Analyst will collaborate across the commercial team, manage sales data inputs, conduct analysis, and produce required reports, acting as a primary source of contact with Finance and other parties when necessary. By ensuring accurate and timely sales reporting and KPIs, this role will improve the organization’s ability to drive internal processes, as well as to share sales progress and insights across the company.
The Commercial Planning Analyst will also serve as the central point-of-contact for strategic, cross-team initiatives centered within the Commercial organization. Additionally, the Commercial Planning Analyst will provide additional analysis and reports as needed by Commercial leadership.
You Will Use Your Expertise To:
- Work collaboratively across the commercial organization to collect, aggregate, and incorporate key inputs to support the annual business plan development process; develops associated reports
- Track organization target performance against the actual monthly/quarterly results in periodic reports for leadership and as needed
- Manage sales and market reporting processes to provide timely, accurate, and easily consumable information to sales and the executive team
- Facilitate centralized commercial organization training and onboarding process by coordinating a group-wide program; continuously updates curriculum based on leadership and team member feedback
- Ensure adoption of key enablement tools by hosting trainings, creating and maintaining documentation, promoting tool value proposition, tracking usage metrics, and reporting on performance to leadership
- Support our PE Market Focus Strategy initiatives, including annual account planning process, including collaborating with Account Managers and other key stakeholders to aggregate key inputs, updating and editing plans as necessary, and soliciting final approval from Commercial leadership
- Incorporate ad hoc strategic input from front-line Commercial team members as necessary to refresh account plans with key market insights outside typical update cycle
- Perform analysis of sales performance as required by Commercial leadership
- Propose, calculate, and track KPIs across relevant Commercial initiatives
- Support implementation of tools and processes
- Implement new and existing software or tools, i.e. PowerBI, IBP, DCX, Pricefx, Kinaxis
What We Are Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or engineering is preferred with 5-7 years of business experience and continued professional development OR 10+ years combination of post-secondary education, business experience and continued professional development.
- 2-3 years of experience in sales, finance, planning, Customer Service or Customer Related Experience; experience in Chemicals or related industry preferred
- Finance, forecasting, and budgeting experience would be considered an asset
- Strong analytical skills with ability to compile and organize data in Excel and other software programs to build financial models and produce reports
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills; confident in reporting to and working closely with senior leadership
- Ability to work cross-functionally across the organization, solve problems collaboratively, and deliver lasting value through collective action
- Uses ethical principles to guide decisions and actions; demonstrates honesty and integrity in managing people and resources; and treats others with respect, fairness, and concern for their welfare

Additional Information:
- Relocation will be considered to the nearest geographical NOVA Chemicals' location for this position
- Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
- This role requires up to 10% travel
- The successful candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible to travel easily between Canada and the U.S.
