We are seeking a talented Analyzer Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. You will enjoy working in a collaborative, innovative environment. Through our commitment to Responsible Care®, we take pride in our focus on safety and responsibility.

 

As a member of our Routine Maintenance Team at the Geismar site, you will be responsible for providing day-today maintenance support in all process areas of the plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing Preventative/Reactive maintenance of all Analytical equipment throughout the facility in a safe effective manner to support plant operations.

 

You Will Use Your Expertise To: 

  • Perform preventative and routine analyzer maintenance for various platforms and technologies.
  • Proactively identify analyzer issues through troubleshooting and daily preventative maintenance activities.
  • Record PM Documentation and equipment repair reports.
  • Keep track of Validation/Calibration gas bottle inventory.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks assigned in a timely, safe, and accurate manner along with overcoming barriers and engaging others when required.
  • Interface with Vendors and Technical Representatives to support projects and facilitate repairs.
  • Assist with development of procedures for the maintenance and reliability of analyzer equipment.
  • Support Routine Maintenance, Planned & Unplanned outages, Capital Projects & Turnarounds.
  • Work effectively in a multi-disciplined team environment.

 

What We Are Looking For: 

  • The preferred successful candidate will have an Associate Degree or equivalent Technical Diploma/Certificate and 3-5 years of related experience in a refining/petrochemical facility maintenance environment.
  • Participation in available cross training with Instrument Technicians to develop skills to continually support plant Operations.
  • Attend and participate in Daily Safety meetings along with meeting site specific safety goals & objectives.
  • Strong commitment to Responsible Care Principles through excellence in occupational safety, process safety, and environmental stewardship.
  • A candidate that demonstrates a strong mechanical aptitude, technical knowledge, and the ability to work effectively with Maintenance, Operations and Engineering Teams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, provide recommendations, and implement short- and long-term solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplined Operations, Engineering, Trades, and Planning teams.
  • Experience with SAP inputting work order history, closing notifications, and inputting time for daily work activities.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, independently or in a team setting.
  • Familiarity with OSHA PSM Standards.
  • Experience with Siemens Maxum II Gas Chromatographs including Siemens Gas Chromatograph Portal.
  • Experience with ABB Caldos and/or Multiwave Continuous Analyzers.
  • Experience with Ametek Thermox WDG IV/V and other stack gas measurement technologies (e.g. TDLS).

Additional Information:

  • Relocation will NOT be considered for this position
  • Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
  • This role requires up to 10% travel
  • This is a 10-hour day, Monday to Thursday schedule 
  • Work will be conducted both indoors and outdoors in all seasons
  • Positions will include some lifting and climbing of ladders within various levels of the units
  • Overtime and callouts are a requirement of the role due to the 24 hour per day plant operation
  • In order to fulfil the duties of this role, the successful candidate will be required to wear respiratory protective equipment. Candidate must successfully pass a fit test and be physically able to wear a respirator
  • The successful candidate is required to provide proof of a valid driver’s license
