We are seeking a Material Control Technician to provide support to our Corunna Site.  In this role you will ensure materials are accurately replenished, received and issued to end users.  You will also be responsible for ensuring the staging, handling and delivery of the material is completed in a safe and efficient manner. Responsibilities will also include Cycle Counting for inventory accuracy.

 

You Will Use Your Expertise To:

  • Unload trucks, accurately receive stock and non-stock purchase orders for Corunna site.  Inspect materials for defects and damages or quality issues.  (SAP is required to complete these transactions).
  • Maintain accurate material locations in SAP.
  • Distribute credit card orders received.
  • Perform daily Cycle Counts on inventory, investigate errors, and reconcile balances.
  • Provide fast, courteous service to end users requesting materials ensuring SAP system is updated to reflect usage.
  • Pick and stage materials for work orders/OWL.
  • Provide delivery of materials when required across the site utilizing a van or fork truck.
  • Return unused materials to stock.
  • Collaborate with Customs Compliance to ship materials for the site end users including Stores repaired materials/capital spares.  Process shipping in accordance with site procedures and Customs regulations and laws
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
  • Maintain Bulk storage/laydown/remote storage areas.
  • Rotate through the various areas of the warehouse according to the established schedule.
  • Interface with Stakeholders, Procurement, Expediting as required to assist with any troubleshooting.
  • Attend and participate in required audits or planned inspections (e.g., chemical/cycle count/Responsible Care)
  • Perform and encourage peers to follow safe work practices
  • Complete required Responsible Care observations monthly
  • Troubleshoot/problem solve inventory discrepancies with appropriate site contact/MRP
  • Attend required number of Safety Meetings

 

What We Are Looking For:

  • Post-secondary education with a focus on Business, CITT, APICS, PMAC or combined with proven warehouse experience (3-5 years); or High School diploma with 5 years warehouse experience
  • Strong computer/technology skills
  • Shipping and Receiving experience
  • Forklift certified, ability to operate hand truck, pallet jack and relevant warehouse equipment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • SAP experience is an asset
  • Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint experience
  • Ability to lift 22.5kg
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks
  • Attention to detail is essential

Additional Information:

  • Relocation will NOT be considered for this position
  • Work will be conducted both indoors and outdoors in all seasons
  • Positions will include some lifting and climbing of ladders within various levels of the units
  • Overtime and callouts are a requirement of the role due to the 24 hour per day plant operation
  • In order to fulfil the duties of this role, the successful candidate will be required to wear respiratory protective equipment. Candidate must successfully pass a fit test and be physically able to wear a respirator
  • The successful candidate is required to provide proof of a valid driver’s license
